mimel is an AI chat-story app built around the idea that "a single line from you rewrites destiny." Send a message to a favorite character—or your own AI boyfriend or girlfriend—and the story branches in real time like a romance game: you choose your name, nickname, and personality, and plots unfold across themes from childhood friends to office romance and reincarnation. Characters remember what you say and shift their attitude and relationship based on your choices and how you address them, giving a sense of being continuously remembered. Beyond the main romance, you can slip into daily banter and ensemble interactions. The app uses its own dialogue model to generate scenes and stresses that the player is the protagonist. iOS launched Aug 2025 and is actively updated, with English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese support.
Background
Developed by Liume INC., mimel positions itself as a romance novel that branches with your choices, combining AI character chat with interactive storytelling and centering the player as the protagonist.
Technology
Uses a proprietary dialogue model to generate branching plots; users set the protagonist's name, nickname, and personality, and a character's tone and relationship shift in real time with memory carried through the story. Underlying model and training details are not publicly disclosed.
Market
Operated by Liume INC. for players who enjoy romance interactive fiction; US App Store rating is about 4.6 (small sample; the company has not published large-scale market data—this reflects the public store listing).
Best For
People who want to be the protagonist of a romance storyPlayers who like branching plotsUsers wanting to customize the lead and relationships
Editorial Note
Turns AI character chat into a branching romance interactive novel; customizable protagonist and live memory keep the plot centered on you. It leans romantic entertainment rather than emotion-support companionship.
Strengths
- + Player-customized name/personality makes the plot branch around you
- + Characters remember and shift attitude with choices, giving strong continuity
- + Covers diverse romance themes from childhood friends to reincarnation
Drawbacks
- − Romance/narrative-focused, not an emotion-support companion
- − Deeper content and advanced characters require a subscription
Value Assessment：Worth a try for players who want to drive a romance plot and be the story's protagonist.
