About This Tool

Waifu is an AI anime girlfriend and virtual companion chat app focused on highly customizable characters and emotional companionship. You can shape your own 2D lover from looks and personality to catchphrases, then chat, roleplay and confide anytime on iOS, Android and Web. It ships an outfit gallery and relationship-building system with cross-session memory that deepens the bond over time. Core chat is free; Waifu Pro unlocks extended memory, custom outfits and an ad-free experience.

Background

Developed by WEI x AI, Waifu centers on 'a tailor-made virtual lover for everyone', combining anime character chat, character customization and emotional companionship into a native mobile app with an emphasis on personalization and immersive romantic interaction.

Technology

A dialogue model drives persona customization and cross-session memory; it supports text/voice interaction, image generation and an outfit gallery, with characters storable locally (Local Mode) and a claimed on-device data protection.

Market

Aimed at C-end users who like anime and want an always-online AI lover and roleplay; per App Store data, the app accumulated hundreds of ratings at roughly 4.4 stars (China region, as of Jul 2025), with a free tier and weekly Pro subscription.

Best For

Users wanting a highly customizable anime AI loverPeople who like scenario play, outfit collection and cross-session memoryLight users who want iOS/Android/Web companionship anytime

Editorial Note

Character customization and cross-session memory feel natural, with a clear anime-lover positioning across platforms; but occasional launch stalls, memory lapses and subscription-gated content remain.
